Ray Makene (1984- 1988).

The Northland Speedway Champs is a competition that is

held by the members of the four Northland tracks.

The event is normally over four rounds

(one round at each or the four northland tracks)

during the current season.

The 2008-2009 season the committee opted for

1 x Two Day meet at the Host club

The decision was made due to rising running and fuel costs

and to promote more club interaction

and healthy competition between these clubs and its members.
