As a supporter for son Steve Hannon in ‘94’,
I became an active committee
member in the late ‘90’s, going on to become first lady president in ‘2002,’
the position that I held until 2009 and a job I felt very passionate about.

Kaikohe Speedway is very family orientated and a great club to be a part of.
I lady drove for Ken Ruwhiu in ‘99’ then buying the car a dx Toyota.
After that body disintegrated I bought another Toyota, transferred all parts from original car,
and my new car became ‘Christine’. With the help of Russell Allen who became my racing partner.
We had a lot of fun and many a win. She was short lived after a severe knock into the concrete wall.
That car was replaced with another DX, ex Taipa; I went onto lady drive for
Boss Harris in the original ‘555’ that was a blast. ‘
‘2004-2005’ I joined C Grade Men in borrowed car ‘Fobby.’ The guy’s were all cool
about me running with them along with the points. That season I won overall points
and the C Grade men’s Champion Cup.
‘2005-2006. I drove alongside Terry Strawbridge in his skyline.
I then went on to own and drive a 2.8 Toyota Supra,
ex Geordie Inglis car ‘The Tormentor’.
My achievements in both C Grade and Production are; Club Day Champs winner in both grades.
Overall season points in both grades; Overall points Easter Stampede in both grades;
Ashby Memorial Trophy and Ladies 20 Lap dash; Dargaville 2 day meet Overall Points; C Grade.
NBC 2007 - Production Lady 2nd equal; Kaikohe Club Day Champs - Production Lady 1st
